Warren County Soccer Club is proud to announce an exciting new program for our juniors. This program is a youth developmental program with an emphasis on developing young soccer players’ skills through activity based education which is recommended by US soccer and USSF.
The Warren County Juniors program will offer an opportunity for boys and girls ages 6, 7, & 8 to learn soccer in a fun filled and energy packed environment where the focus of development is skill based through creative activities.
This program will be offered in the Spring of 2010. The program consists of the following scheduled events:
Practice will be on Monday and Wednesday evenings beginning on Monday March 15, 2010 and run for ten weeks. We will run straight through 10 weeks. We will not take a week off for Spring break. We will end the program on Saturday May 22, 2010 with a World Cup competition.
Monday will be a one hour professional trainer run practice by DOC (Director of Coaching) Dave Woeste and his assistant Katie Gaus. Girls practice from 6-7 PM and boys practice from 7-8 PM. Wednesday evening will be a 4v4 game situation practice directed by Dave and Katie and assisted by the AAC’s (Age Appropriate Coaches). This 4v4 game situation practice will allow the players to play in a free thinking environment. Coaching will be limited and play will be accentuated!
Festival games will also be part of this program. We will have three Saturdays set aside for Dutch Soccer and one final tournament of World Cup. This will run by the AAC’s and assisted by Dave Woeste. These will be 90 minute fun filled festival style game situation where the kids get to compete against all of the children in the age group in a non-result environment. We will end the season with a World Cup competition which will be very fun and competitive with medals being awarded to all who participate. We are also going to set aside three Saturdays for Friendlies with other clubs in the CUSL league. This again will be a non-result festival style playing experience.
Cost for the program will be $100 per player for all practice and games mentioned above. (Make checks payable to WC Soccer Club.)
Uniforms will be one jersey with WCSC logo, one pair of shorts and one pair of socks. If you have a uniform from the fall it may be used. If you need to purchase a uniform this can be done through www.soccervillage.com. (Please ask for the instruction sheet.)
