After 3 strong qualifying games in which the Cobras outscored their opponents 13-1 in 3 undefeated games, we headed to the finals. With 2 minutes left, the Cobras were down 2-1. Defense was pulled and it was all or nothing. Matthew Messer scored the tying goal with 1 minute left in regulation to force the game into penalty kicks. Having made our first 3 of 4 and the other team missing one and Colin blocking one, it came down to one block to win the game. Colin stepped up calmly, blocked another PK, and the Cobras were victorious! Everyone rushed the field! A day that surely will be remembered for a long time. The Cobras never gave up, focused when they needed to, and brought home the championship. It was a true team effort with everyone turning in a great performance. Congratulations guys!!
After winning all of their qualitification games, WCSC BU9 White "Cobras" made it the final game for their division at the 2011 MASC tournament. During a hard-fought final game in which every player gave 110%, the opponent squeaked a lucky goal in the final minutes of regular play. The Cobras dominated a great portion of the game, but lady luck was not on our side that day. We have grown tremendously in our 9 months together and will continue to grow and become even more competetive. Congratulations to everyone involved-players, coaches, and parents!
